The device has the model number SM-G750. It was uncovered on a user agent profile on Samsung's own servers.
There's no confirmation of the size of the device, but we do know it'll be less well specced than the full-fat S5.
It'll run Android 4.3 Jelly Bean – compared to 4.4 KitKat for the proper S5 – and have a processor speed of 2.3GHz. That's slightly lower than the S5's 2.5GHz chip.
The screen resolution is given as 1,280x720 pixels, though there's no word on a size.
If it doesn't turn out to be any smaller, this handset could be the Galaxy S5 Neo instead of the Mini. Like the Gear 2 Neo compared to the standardGear 2, it could just lose some features and be a more affordable model. (The Gear 2 Neo doesn't have a camera, whereas the Gear 2 does.)
Samsung has launched spinoff after spinoff of previous Galaxy flagships, so there's no reason to think it'll do any different with the S5. For the Galaxy S4, it launched a camera version – the S4 Zoom – and a rugged one named the S4 Active, as well as the S4 Mini.
